Quick answer

Post-construction duct cleaning removes the drywall dust, sawdust, insulation bits and debris that fall into ducts during a remodel or rebuild. Crystal Air Duct Solutions cleans the full system before move-in, and also offers move-in cleaning between tenants or after buying a home.

Post-Construction Duct Cleaning

Post-Construction Duct Cleaning done thoroughly, by the owner

Even with vents covered, construction dust finds its way into ductwork. Fine drywall dust is especially hard on HVAC systems and can coat coils and blowers as well as the ducts.

Many homes in Malibu and Pacific Palisades are being remodeled or rebuilt. Cleaning the ducts before you move back in keeps that dust out of your new rooms.

When to schedule it

Book post-construction cleaning after drywall, sanding and flooring work are finished, but before you move furniture back in. If the HVAC system ran during construction, ask us to check the coil and blower area too.

For move-ins, cleaning before you unpack means you start with ducts free of the previous occupant's dust and pet dander.

How it works

What to expect

Every job follows the same careful steps.

  1. Inspect

We look inside the registers, returns and accessible duct runs and show you photos of what we find before quoting.

  2. Protect

Floors, furniture and the area around each vent are covered before any equipment comes inside.

  3. Connect the vacuum

A high-powered vacuum is connected to the system so loosened dust is pulled out, not pushed into your rooms.

  4. Brush and clean

Rotary brushes and air whips work through each supply and return run, boot and register.

  5. Fix what is needed

Loose connections, torn tape or damaged sections we find are pointed out, with repair options before any extra work.

  6. Walk through the results

You see before-and-after photos, and we answer every question before we leave.

Questions

Questions we hear often

Should the HVAC run during construction?

Ideally not. If it must, keep vents covered and the filter changed often, then schedule a cleaning when work ends.

Is move-in duct cleaning worth it?

Yes, if you do not know when the ducts were last cleaned or the previous owners had pets or smoked.

Do you work with contractors?

Yes. We can schedule around your contractor's timeline and provide photos for their records.

Do you clean rental properties between tenants?

Yes. We clean ducts and dryer vents for landlords and property managers.
