Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Topanga, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Westlake Village, Hidden Hills, Santa Monica, Brentwood, Woodland Hills, Thousand Oaks and Oak Park.
Do you offer estimates?
Yes. Request an online estimate or call, and we will inspect and quote before any work begins.
Do you show before-and-after photos?
Yes. Every job includes photos so you can see what we found and what we cleaned.
Air Duct Cleaning
How long does air duct cleaning take?
Most Malibu homes take two to four hours. Larger homes with several HVAC systems can take most of a day. We give you a time estimate after the inspection.
Will duct cleaning make a mess in my home?
No. We cover floors and furniture near each vent, and the vacuum keeps loosened dust moving out of the system instead of into your rooms.
Do you clean return ducts too?
Yes. Return ducts and grilles are often the dirtiest part of the system, so every cleaning includes them.
Who will do the work?
Crystal Air Duct Solutions is owner-operated. Our owner brings more than 20 years of duct cleaning experience to every job.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
How often should a dryer vent be cleaned?
Once a year for most homes, and every six months for large households, rentals or long vent runs.
Can you clean a rooftop dryer vent?
Yes. We clean vents that exit through the roof, including the vertical run and the roof cap, which is common in condos and multi-story homes.
Do you remove bird nests from dryer vents?
Yes. We remove nests and debris from the outside opening, clean the line and check that the vent flap closes properly.
Can you replace a foil or plastic dryer hose?
Yes. We can replace flimsy foil or plastic transition hoses with rigid or semi-rigid metal duct. See our dryer vent repair page.
Dryer Vent Repair & Replacement
Is a foil dryer hose safe?
Foil and plastic hoses crush easily and trap lint in their ridges. Most dryer makers recommend rigid or semi-rigid metal duct instead.
Why does my dryer vent flap stay open?
Lint buildup, a bent flap, corrosion from salt air, or a nest can keep it from closing. We clean or replace the cap.
Can you shorten a long dryer vent run?
Often, yes. Where the home allows it, we reroute the line with fewer bends so lint has fewer places to collect.
Do you also clean the vent when you repair it?
Yes. Every repair includes cleaning the remaining line and an airflow test at the end.
Air Duct Sanitizing
Do you sanitize ducts without cleaning them?
No. A sanitizer cannot work through dust and debris, so sanitizing is always done after a full cleaning.
Will sanitizing remove musty smells?
It helps control odors from the ducts. If the smell comes from ongoing moisture, that source needs to be fixed too, and we will point it out.
Is it safe for pets and kids?
We explain the product, the airing-out time and when it is fine to return to the treated rooms before we start.
Can sanitizing be added to any cleaning?
Yes. It can be added to any residential or commercial air duct cleaning.
Wildfire Smoke Duct Cleaning
Can smoke get into my ducts if the windows were closed?
Yes. Smoke enters through the return side of the system, gaps around doors and windows, and fresh-air intakes.
Will cleaning remove the smoke smell?
Cleaning removes the soot and ash that hold the smell. Sanitizing and deodorizing can be added for lingering odor.
Do you provide photos for insurance claims?
Yes. We take before-and-after photos on every job and can send them to you.
Do you serve Pacific Palisades and Topanga?
Yes. We serve Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Topanga, Calabasas and nearby communities.
Post-Construction Duct Cleaning
Should the HVAC run during construction?
Ideally not. If it must, keep vents covered and the filter changed often, then schedule a cleaning when work ends.
Is move-in duct cleaning worth it?
Yes, if you do not know when the ducts were last cleaned or the previous owners had pets or smoked.
Do you work with contractors?
Yes. We can schedule around your contractor's timeline and provide photos for their records.
Do you clean rental properties between tenants?
Yes. We clean ducts and dryer vents for landlords and property managers.
Commercial Air Duct Cleaning
Can you clean after business hours?
Yes. We schedule early mornings, evenings or weekends to avoid disrupting your business.
Do you work with HOAs and property managers?
Yes. We can clean all units in a building on a set schedule and provide a report for each.
Do you clean restaurant kitchen exhaust hoods?
No. We clean HVAC ducts and dryer vents. Kitchen exhaust hood cleaning is a separate specialty.
Do you provide documentation?
Yes. You get before-and-after photos and a summary of the work for your records.
Duct Repair & Sealing
How do I know if my ducts are leaking?
Uneven room temperatures, weak airflow at some vents, dust returning quickly and higher energy bills are common signs. An inspection confirms it.
Do you replace damaged duct sections?
Yes. We replace crushed or torn runs and reattach loose connections.
Should ducts be cleaned before sealing?
Yes. We clean first, so seals stick to clean surfaces and debris is not trapped inside.
Do you install new ductwork?
We repair and replace sections of existing ductwork. For a full system replacement, we will tell you honestly if that is what your home needs.
Duct Inspection & Airflow Testing
Is the inspection free?
We offer online estimates. Call or use the estimate form and we will explain what is included for your home.
What happens if my ducts are clean?
We tell you so. You only pay for cleaning when the inspection shows it is needed.
Do you test indoor air quality?
We review the factors that affect it at home: duct condition, filters, dust levels and odors, and recommend what will help most.
Can you inspect before I buy a home?
Yes. A pre-purchase duct inspection shows the condition of the system before you move in.
HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Ups
How often should HVAC maintenance be done?
Twice a year is ideal: the furnace before winter and the AC before summer.
Why clean AC coils near the coast?
Salt air and debris build up on outdoor coils and reduce cooling efficiency.
How often should I change my air filter?
Every one to three months for most homes, more often with pets, allergies or after smoke events.
Do you install UV lights?
Yes. We install whole-home air purifiers and UV lights in your HVAC system.
Chimney Sweep
How often should a chimney be swept?
Once a year for fireplaces and wood stoves that are used regularly.
Do you install chimney caps?
Yes. We install chimney caps with spark screens to keep out rain, animals and embers.
Do you clean wood stoves?
Yes. We clean wood stoves, fireboxes and smoke chambers.
Is the sweep messy?
No. We cover the hearth and surrounding area and use a vacuum to contain soot.
